Kalypsoweb Future Enhancements: Remote MySQL Servers
Kalypsoweb is always looking for ways to improve our web hosting network. Our next network upgrade is to implement remote MySQL servers and move MySQL from the cPanel servers to remote MySQL servers. By doing this, it will reduce latency by freeing up resources on the cPanel server for email services, web services and FTP services. It will also give more resources to the MySQL servers for those databases that may need it. It is our goal, as cPanel continues to add the ability to cluster services, to have a fully clustered, high availibility network. This way if one server were to go down or fail, say email server for example, you would still have FTP, MySQL, and HTTP services available instead of having a single point of failure for all services.
Remote MySQL Servers is estimated to be installed and implement by Spring 2009. The future MySQL network layout is below:
